do cell phones work on the ships? also what is the fee for internet onboard?

    Ahoy Robert!
Welcome to the Moms Panel!  Staying connected at sea is possible with the Cellular at Sea program Disney Cruise Line uses.  Pricing will vary depending on your carrier so I definitely recommend giving them a call to clarify rates and any international roaming charges you might incur.
Internet minutes can be pay as you go ($.75 per minute) or for a sailing seven-nights or less you will find the current rates to be 50 minutes for $27.50, 100 minutes for $40.00, or 250 for $75.00. Rates are always subject to change so you will want to check with Guest Services once you board for specific fees and internet usage instructions.  If you are sailing on the Dream, there are WiFi hotspots such as the Vista Cafe (Deck Four)  and the Cove Cafe (Deck 11).  Connectivity in your stateroom is sometimes a bit spotty, so if you can't log-in in there be sure to visit these spots.  Depending on the ship's location, the internet can be a bit slower than on land so also take that into consideration when purchasing your minutes.
I hope my answer helps with your planning, Robert!  Please let me know if you have any further questions before you are setting sail for a magical voyage on the high seas!
    Have a wonderful day!
