Hi, Jenifer! I am finding more and more that you can opt for healthier choices for children at many of the Walt Disney World restaurants. This week, I have seen grilled chicken, beef tenderloin, pan roasted flounder, and even tandoori chicken - all on kids menus!
We've been selecting appetizers and side dishes that include fresh fruit and salad, and even places that I traditionally expected to find only unhealthy options are offering fresh fruit or applesauce as a side dish. Things are definitely improving in terms of kid cuisine at Walt Disney World.
If you are not on the dining plan and can't find anything on a children's menu that is suitable, you can always order a salad and an appetizer for smaller appetites. We have done that numerous times, as I try really hard not to give the girls burgers and chicken nuggets unless it's a special treat.
You can check out all of the Walt Disney World menus for children at

I hope the birthday celebration is magical!
