We will celebrate a daughter/granddaughter's birthday in WDW. Can we bring wrapped gifts into the park for the celebration?

    Hello Claude,

This is a great question with an unfortunate answer.

You cannot bring wrapped gifts into the theme parks. There is a security checkpoint at the park entrance. All packages must be able to be inspected there.

The Moms Panelists found out about this rule the hard way. One of us had a celebration inside one of the Disney World Theme parks. Several of us chipped in for a gift and brought it wrapped to the party. The security guard made us unwrap it for inspection before we could bring it into the park.

If you'd like to have wrapped gifts presented while you're in the park, my suggestion is to bring the gift and the wrapping paper separately and then quickly do the wrapping while inside. Or you could bring the gifts in decorative bags covered by fill-like tissue paper. The tissue could be easily moved aside so that the guard could take a look.

Please let us know if you have additional questions. We're happy to help.
