Happy Easter, Kathleen, and welcome to planDisney! Let’s hop right into the details for your upcoming springtime visit to Walt Disney World!
You’ve chosen a beautiful time of year to visit; flowers are in bloom, there's plenty of sunshine, and a little extra magic in the air. I also love that you’re hoping to celebrate your faith while you’re there.
In past years, Catholic Mass has been held at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Easter Sunday in the Fantasia Ballroom. However, this year it looks like Disney is not offering on-site services. The good news is that Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica, located just a few miles from Walt Disney World, will hold Easter Mass at 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM (also live-streamed), and noon. This peaceful and welcoming church has long been a favorite for many guests visiting during the holiday.
After Mass, you might want to check out one of my favorite Easter traditions at Walt Disney World, which are the Gigantic Easter Egg Displays! You’ll find them at select resorts including Disney’s
Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Beach Club, and Disney’s Yacht Club. The hand-decorated eggs at the Grand Floridian are absolutely egg-straordinary, and each one tells a unique story inspired by beloved Disney films.
If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom, keep an eye out for Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, greeting guests in the Bunny Lane Garden near
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square. It’s the perfect photo spot, and Disney PhotoPass photographers will be on hand to capture the moment. And don’t miss the Easter Parade, a cheerful mini-procession featuring springtime favorites and some rare Disney characters, including the White Rabbit! It usually hops along Main Street, U.S.A., just before the
Festival of Fantasy Parade around 3:00 PM.
If you're planning a stop at EPCOT, then be sure to join the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt! You can purchase a map from Pin Traders or World Traveler and search for themed Disney eggs hidden in the World Showcase pavilions. It’s such a fun way to explore the park.
Wishing you a truly magical Easter filled with joy, beauty, and a little bunny-worthy fun, Kathleen!
