On Castaway Cay, we want to sign up for a stingray adventure and then snorkle. Some in our group have mobility issues. Can you walk through gradually deepening water from the stingray location to the snorkle area? Or is more involved in getting around?

Hi JoAnn!

I'm so glad you navigated your way to the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question.

Our family participated in Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure on our Disney Magic Cruise in 2011. When you arrive to the stingray lagoon, you will be directed to a "shack" to hear a little about the stingrays at Castaway Cay. It is on the beach in the sand. Then, you will walk a little bit down the beach to the water and enter up to your knees to have your stingray encounter. The stingrays swim over a special platform, and we were even able to feed them some of their special "jello".

After the initial encounter, we were able to go into the deeper water in the stingray lagoon. We just walked into the water from where we were. It just naturally gets deeper. It was a little chilly, as we were there in January, so no real snorkeling happened with my group.
