Howdy, Christina! It's fabulous to see you back at planDisney. Your
Walt Disney World Resort adventure begins in just a sleep or two, so let's talk about what my dad always called "Paying the piper." I love being caught up in the magic of a Disney vacation, but as Dad would say, those bills won't pay themselves!
I'm happy to let you know that most retail and dining locations at the theme parks and resort hotels
accept cold, hard cash. You can even buy theme park tickets with cash, so feel free to bring along some money-money-money to spend while you're here.
Please keep in mind that a few locations are cashless, mainly the
EPCOT festival booths and kiosks, as well as some outdoor vendors across the theme parks that offer items like balloons and toys.
My tip is to use cash to purchase
Disney Gift Cards at a retail shop. That way, you'll have a Plan B in your pocket if a location doesn't accept cash. You're also welcome to bring your credit card as a backup to your backup!
Did you know you can order food and
pay for merchandise at select locations using your mobile app? And you can pay using a Disney Gift Card! I think you'll be all set to show Mickey the money.
One of my favorite spots for
mobile food ordering is
Flame Tree Barbecue at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I often order lunch in the morning by selecting my desired afternoon pickup time. I customize my favorite order, the
plant-based Korean Barbecue Sandwich, and pay through the app. When my return window opens, I head to the restaurant and tap "I'm here!" I can bypass the lines and head straight to a pickup window. It's a delectable strategy.
