Ahoy, Katie!
It is wonderful to hear from you again with more excellent cruise questions!
Port Adventures are the best way to experience the amazing ports of call on your cruise vacation, and the Disney Cruise Line Port Adventure Team does a fabulous job of finding the best activities for their Guests. When you book directly with the cruise line, you'll let them take care of all the planning and details so you and your family can just sit back, relax and enjoy your time ashore! Since you'll be visiting foreign ports of call on your cruise, different laws apply regarding car seats for little ones. They are actually not supported by many of the vehicles that are used to transport Guests so they will not be needed. You'll want to plan to have your toddler sit on your lap or in the seat next to you.
A
valid passport is all that is needed for your son. You'll present it at check-in at the cruise terminal and when you pass through U.S. Customs after disembarking the ship. We always make photocopies of our passports to take when we venture ashore, but leave them in the stateroom safe for the duration of our cruise. For Guests over the age of 18, any government-issued photo ID along with your "Key to the World" card (cruise identification card) is fine to carry when you leave the ship.
Thank you again for continuing to visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Katie. Keep the questions coming because we are always happy to help with magical plans!
Have a wonderful day!
Nancy
