    We can’t get a straight answer to our question. My son-in-law is a veteran, not retired and not active duty. Our travel agent says he qualifies for the Military Salute resort discount rate. We do not want to find out at check in that he does not qualify.

    Let's unpack all the military ticket offers Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. As a military family, we are so grateful for the opportunities we have been able to use them. There are two types of military tickets:

    • Disney Military Salute Tickets: These are 4, 5, and 6-day tickets sold at a steep discount, and are only applicable to active duty, retirees, and 100% disabled Veterans, as well as officers in the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service (USPHS), and National Oceanic Atmospheric Association (NOAA). These can be purchased at military installations nationwide or through Shades of Green Resort.
    • Magic Your Way Tickets: These are theme park tickets sold at a slight discount, and can be purchased also through your local military installation or Shades of Green. These tickets are available to all Veterans, so your son-in-law qualifies to purchase these! A great benefit for these tickets is that they already come "activated". Unlike the Disney Military Salute Tickets, you can link these to the MagicBand+ of everyone in your travel group, and proceed to the gates of the theme parks without having to stop at Guest Relations to "activate" the tickets.
