Hi Darcy!
I think that picking a resort is the hardest part of a Disney vacation!
While there are an incredible variety of resorts in all sorts of
budgets at Walt Disney World, here are a couple of our favorites.
Port Orleans French Quarter
- This moderate resort is always at the top of everyone's favorites
list! The pools here are very fun, with a serpent slide -- AND for
double your fun, you can hop over to the pool complex at Port Orleans
Riverside (its sister resort). Transportation will be by bus again with
a boat ferry option to travel to Downtown Disney.
PS. This resort also went through a refurbishment recently and received upgrades to queen beds. That's a huge plus if you need to share a bed with kids!
Wilderness Lodge
- By far, our favorite resort! This Pacific Northwest styled resort is
beautiful inside and out. The grand lobby is breathtaking and there are
tons of resort activities for kids. The Whispering Canyon Cafe is often
a popular restaurant with the kids. From here, you can take a quick
boat ferry to the Magic Kingdom, Contemporary and Fort Wilderness. Bus
transportation is provided to the other theme parks - or you can hop on
the Monorail, transfer at the Ticket and Transportation Center and head
to Epcot.
Hope this helps!
