I can't decide to go during summer or winter break when the kids are out of school. I was leaning more towards Christmas break but I do not want to miss out on all the water fun. What are the perks during the winter visits?

    Hi Jamie,

I love that you are thinking about a trip to Walt Disney World with your family! It is one of my favorite places to visit with mine!

While Christmas break is magical with stories of winter holiday celebrations, it is extremely crowded. We have gone three times and each time has been very busy. The last time we were there during this week, we were with our best friends who had never been. Had we not been experts in getting around the parks, it would have been a less than magical experience. We even met another friend in Magic Kingdom who did not plan and noted she had only been on three attractions and it was early in the afternoon. If you do go, try to arrive prior to December 22 as the crowds will be lower.

If you are going for the first time, go in the summer. Yes, it will be hot but you can swim in the pools and go to the water parks. Since different states go back to school at different times, it will not be as busy as Christmas week.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
