Hi Dusty, and thanks for visiting us at planDisney! I’m sorry to hear that you need to cancel your dining reservation, but I’d be happy to help. And I hope that you have other exciting plans coming up very soon!
To cancel a dining reservation in the
My Disney Experience app, go to ☰ in the lower right corner and press My Plans (under My Visit). Towards the top, choose the date for which your reservation is booked. Press on the dining reservation and then select Get Details. On the next screen, you can press the Cancel button.
You can also cancel on the Disney World website. Go to your
My Plans and Tickets page and scroll down to the dining reservation. On the right side, you’ll see a Cancel Reservation button. If you have any issues, you can always
call Disney World, and a Cast Member can help troubleshoot.
Keep in mind that most Disney World restaurant reservations need to be cancelled more than two hours in advance to avoid a cancellation fee. There are certain exceptions to this rule, like
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, which needs to be canceled at least one day before your reservation time to avoid being charged the cost of the experience. You can find the full cancellation policy on the
Frequently Asked Questions page for canceling or modifying a dining reservation.
If you’d like to play things by ear, many restaurants let you join the walk-up list without needing an advance reservation. You can check by searching the restaurant in the My Disney Experience app. If they have that option, you’ll see a Join Walk-Up List button.
Another option my family uses a lot is to mobile order food. When you search a table service restaurant’s name in the app, you’ll see a To Go option if they have mobile ordering available. For instance, if you search
Kona Cafe, you’ll see Kona Cafe (which you can use to make a dining reservation or join the walk-up list to be seated) and Kona Cafe To Go (which you can use to order food). Sometimes we’ll bring the meal back to our room, especially if we have little ones in tow with an early bedtime.
I hope you have a magical visit to Disney World! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
