Cancelled 8/20 family trip w/21 guests. Rescheduled for 7/21. Some of us have park tickets. Will the park reservation system still be in use at this time. Should we all purchase park tickets and make reservations? Thanks!

Hi Christine, and welcome to the new planDisney!  We are glad you stopped by with another vacation planning question.

I also had a family Walt Disney World Resort vacation planned for this summer and have rescheduled it for next summer.  I know we are all hoping that 2021 has a great big beautiful tomorrow waiting for us!

Because theme park capacity will be limited as Walt Disney World welcomes back Guests Returning to a World of Magic, attendance will be managed with the Disney Park Pass reservation system.  All Guests will need a reservation as well as valid admission for theme park entry.  Guests will need to have an admission ticket linked to their My Disney Experience account in order to make Disney Park Pass reservations.

While we don't yet know how long the Disney Park Pass system will be utilized, currently Guests can make reservations through September 26, 2021.  At this time, the Availability Calendar is showing all parks have reservations available for Guests holding theme park tickets on all dates September 8, 2020, through September 26, 2021. (Disney Park Pass reservations are limited and availability is subject to change.)

Christine, it is really up to you if you'd like to purchase your tickets now or wait.  If your plans are relatively firm, I would probably go ahead and purchase tickets for the rest of your party and make your Disney Park Pass reservations just to be on the safe side. If for some reason your 2021 vacation doesn't proceed as planned, the value of an unused ticket can be applied to a new ticket for a future vacation.

Disney Park Pass reservations may be made for up to 12 Guests at a time, so if your entire party plans to visit the same park on the same day you'll need to make more than one group reservation.  As long as all Guests in your party have a reservation, you'll be able to enter the park together.

I hope that helps!  Please stop by planDisney again with any additional questions you may have.  Before you know it, your 2021 vacation will be just a dream away!
