Howdy, Amanda, and thank you for moseying over to planDisney! It sounds like you're making dining plans for an upcoming visit, so let's chat about
Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' at Disney Springs and its reservation policies. I'm not sure why I'm talking in this southern accent; I suppose the image of this restaurant's iconic fried chicken takes me back to my childhood in Kentucky. Yee-haw!
In the name of research, I made a reservation for Homecomin' on my
mobile app. The system automatically sent a confirmation email which included a list of policies regarding parking, dietary concerns, and reservation modifications.
The first policy on the list outlines the cancellation and modification policy, which states that you can cancel or change your reservation up to 2 hours prior without penalty. Any changes made within 2 hours could result in a per-guest charge, as would a no-show.
While policies are always subject to change, I also checked the
general cancellation policy on the Walt Disney World Resort website. The 2-hour rule applies to most restaurants, and I did not see Homecomin' listed as an exception. So you shouldn't have any problems cancelling up to 2 hours before your reservation.
I recently tried to cancel a reservation on my mobile app about three hours prior, but got a message to call for assistance. I called the number provided, and the Cast Member was able to make the change for me with no penalty. I've also used the "Chat With Us" feature in the app to handle changes, and you can stop by the restaurant in person if you're at
Disney Springs.
Okay. I have a confession. I'm a vegetarian, so I've never had Art's Famous Fried Chicken. But looking at the menu, I could have a feast ordering only the sides!
Momma's Mac and Cheese is calling my name...
Amanda, I hope you find the vittles you're hankering for on your next visit. Let me know what you think of that chicken, and I'll share my review of the mac and cheese. Stop by
planDisney anytime. Ya'll come back now!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
