Hiya, Dave.
Gawrsh, I'm sorry to hear you won't be able to proceed with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation as planned. I imagine the excitement you were feeling leading up to your departure has transformed into
disappointment. I wish I could send Baymax your way to cheer you up with a giant hug, but alas, he is currently on a mission with Hiro.
Unfortunately,
Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable, meaning you cannot cancel them or get a refund. However, there is some flexibility for theme park tickets in situations like this. You should be able to simply change the date on your ticket to align with the dates of a future trip, as long as you do so before the original start date of your ticket. You may have to pay for any difference in ticket prices for the new dates, if applicable. It's easy to change the date of your ticket via your
My Disney Experience account either in the
mobile app or from a browser:
- In your My Disney Experience app: Click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner on the home screen. Select "Tickets & Passes" from the options and scroll through to find your ticket. You should see an option to modify the dates of your ticket below its details.
- From a browser: Go to your "My Plans" page and scroll down to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section. Click on "Tickets & Memory Maker." You should see your ticket listed. If you click on your ticket, it should present the option to change its dates.
If you don't know when you'll be able to make a trip to Walt Disney World Resort, keep the ticket linked to your My Disney Experience account. Be sure to save the ticket ID or confirmation number in a safe place as well. Once the scheduled date for the ticket lapses, it will disappear from view on your account, but it will still be visible to the Cast Members at Guest Services. You will be able to apply the ticket's value towards the purchase of
theme park tickets in the future when you're ready to rebook your trip by calling Guest Services directly at (407) 939-1936. You also have the option of reaching out to a Cast Member in the existing tickets department now by calling (407) 934-7639 and explaining your situation. They will be able to offer more insight and walk you through your options.
Dave, there's so much to look forward to at Walt Disney World Resort during
The World's Most Magical Celebration, like the
Beacons of Magic and the
Disney Fab 50 Character Collection. Plus, an exciting new attraction,
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, opens this summer! I sure hope you're able to return to the magic sooner than later, and when you do,
planDisney will be here waiting to help any way we can.
Take care,
Alyssa
