Hi again Susan, it's wonderful as always to see you back here at planDisney!
It's always great to have a lot of extra-careful Canadian eyes out there keeping track of the latest news pertaining to folks coming down from Canada for their upcoming trips, especially when it comes to speaking for everyone in the country about things that Canadians deserve or ought to have as valued guests at Disney Destinations!
You are absolutely right about all of the sometimes contradictory information that we hear out there on the internet, which makes having access to official sources and messaging here at planDisney something that can really help to cut through the noise. Ever since
the announcement was made online about the updates to Lightning Lane passes coming July 24, there were a lot of conversations that followed almost immediately about who was eligible for this and whether Canadians would be counted among the international guests who had to wait until they were in the United States in order to
purchase Lightning Lane passes and plan each day through their selections.
Fortunately however, the most updated messaging from Disney regarding this reads as follows at the time of writing: "
Canadian guests may continue to use the My Disney Experience app after the launch of pre-arrival purchasing and planning for Lightning Lane passes."
In my opinion, this is a good sign for everyone in the country who are already accustomed to
planning, making purchases and processing transactions when booking various experiences with the My Disney Experience app already and I'll be watching closely to see whether anything changes by the time of the launch date. From my personal experience there have certainly been times when Cast Members might share inaccurate information or may not have been given the most up-to-date knowledge from their leadership, so I also personally hope that this messaging remains consistent among all Cast Members as it's always better to have a clear path forward for guests whenever anything new is introduced ahead of their Disney adventures.
I highly encourage you to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog if any other announcements do come up over the next few weeks, and you're absolutely always welcome back here at planDisney for any more advice or answers from our sources in the hope of continuing to help all of the Canadians Disney folks and families up North!
