Welcome to planDisney, Lesli!
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! How wonderful to be spending your honeymoon at Walt Disney World... the perfect place to begin your happily ever after! I love your adventurous spirit, and am impressed with your honeymoon choice of
camping at Fort Wilderness. You'll be combining a peaceful setting, natural beauty, and a pixie-dusted dose of excitement whenever you want to hop over to a Disney Park. I'm a nature lover who also adores camping, so I think you've got a magical plan indeed!
Renting canoes while at Fort Wilderness will be a terrific thing to do during your Spring visit. I checked with a Cast Member, and they confirmed that the canoe rentals are actually $15 per hour (not per person, prices subject to change). The hourly charge is per boat, with a 3 guest maximum capacity per canoe. Don't forget to pack some water, sunscreen, and sun hats. When you check in at the Bike Barn, you'll be given a
map of the waterway to explore. What a fun way to basically tour the resort area by water! I've heard it's very easy to navigate, and you'll get glimpses of wildlife like plentiful birds and turtles.
One other recommendation before I go, since you'll be staying in the area of Pioneer Hall. My son and I recently went to the western variety show
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Review, and had such a wonderful time! This wholesome entertainment has a way of getting everyone in the audience laughing and clapping along, and the food is absolutely delicious! Mmmm.... I'm craving that wonderful strawberry shortcake just thinking about it. If you're interested in this, you'll want to grab an
advance dining reservation as soon as your eligibility window opens 60 days before your arrival date. This dining venue offers a 10% discount when paying with a Chase Disney Rewards Visa card. In this case, just call a Cast Member to assist with your booking and they can apply that discount.
Have a wonderful wedding and even better honeymoon, Lesli! Please
visit me again at planDisney if I can help with any other planning recommendations.
Adventure is out there,
