Can you have campfires at Fort Wilderness Campsites? I was lookin thru the pictures and couldnt tell.

    Hi Melissa!

It used to be that you couldn't have a campfire at Fort Wilderness Cabins because Disney worried about the campfires getting out of control or being left unattended, but you now can have a campfire if you bring your own contained campfire unit. You can use a firepit that has a solid metal bottom on short legs with a wire mesh top. A mesh top is OK at all campsites  except those near the creekside. (this is because the fire could spread to nearby trees.) if you are at a site near the creek, you must have a solid metal top.

When you check into the resort they will provide you with a sheet that outlines the acceptable firepits. You can also visit allears dot net for the PDF file that shows pictures of the approved campfire unit.

I stayed at the Fort Wilderness Cabins just last week and they were amazing! You will LOVE them!

    Magically,
    Stacy
