Welcome back, Ruby! Yes, your camera! That is one thing you don't want to leave off of your packing checklist. There will be so many photo opportunities onboard and with all the special memories you'll be making, you won't want to miss capturing those moments!
Cameras are not allowed to be used during the productions in the Walt Disney Theatre, and you will hear that announcement before each show. Just tuck your camera away in your bag during the show, but keep it with you because you'll surely want it for all the fun you head out to experience right after the show.
I've been told when we've sailed that we shouldn't take photos in the Youth Clubs during secured programming time, as parents are not to stay with the kids at that time. However, during Open House hours, we've been able to take photos of our kids when we stay with them to enjoy the fun events. Of course, this type of thing is always subject to change. If you are not sure, please do ask the counselors at the clubs who can direct you of what is allowed. Also, you shouldn't take photos during the screenings of the films in the Buena Vista Theatre either. Other than that, I can't think of a time when we haven't had our camera ready to take pictures of our experiences. As with anything else, just ask if you're unsure. The Cast Members are always happy to answer you questions onboard.
There are Disney photographers onboard too, ready to take your photograph, which you can later view at
Shutters, the photo shop onboard. Their pictures always turn out so much better than mine, so we normally buy at least a few prints or a photo cd to store our memories.
I hope those details help as you continue to plan, Ruby! Stop back again if you have any other questions! I'm happy to help!
