I want to do California Grill since we love sushi, but am worried about being at MK all day and going straight there . Staying at AKL so it seems crazy to leave MK, go change, then back to Cal. Grill to eat. Is it appropriate to go directly from MK?

Hi Julie! I agree with you that you'd spend a lot of unnecessary time traveling if you go back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge after a day in the Magic Kingdom and then return to the California Grill for dinner. If you're using Disney transportation, that trip could cost you an hour or more, so it would definitely be appropriate to head to dinner straight from the Magic Kingdom. In fact, you'll likely see many other guests there who have done the same. The California Grill does have a dress code, but it's fairly compatible with what you'd wear to the park for the day. Dress shorts and t-shirts are allowed, so as long as you wear a nicer shorts outfit, you'll fit in fine at the California Grill. Just be sure to avoid tank tops, cut-offs, hats, and torn clothing. You can see the dress code on the California Grill's webpage found here.

Even my picky kids love the fantastic food at the California Grill, and it's a great spot for sushi and fireworks viewing! Hope you have a magical meal there! Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're always happy to help!
