Can you buy tickets in 2009 for 2010. We have a trip in January 2010 and would like to purchase the Park hopper for 7 days but in July of 2009.

Absolutely. Any WDW tickets you purchase will be valid until you first use them. You could buy a 7-day Park Hopper now and not use it until 2010, 2011, or even later, and it would still be perfectly valid. This is a great way to lock in your ticket price now in case the rates increase later in the year.

There is one thing to remember: Your tickets retain their full value only until the first time you use them. Once you use a ticket for the first time, it expires 14 days later, regardless of how many times you entered the parks. This means that once you use the ticket, you have 14 days in which to use the seven days of your Hopper. If you want the full value of your ticket to be good forever even after you've used it, then you'll need to purchase the "No Expiration" add-on option.
