Hey, Pat!
I recommend purchasing your
theme park tickets online for a variety of reasons, but the biggest one is the ability to customize the ticket type to fit you. By that, I mean that if you purchase through an in-person third-party, like some grocery stores that carry vouchers for tickets, you are often locked into buying a certain number of days, and a certain type of ticket.
While you are able to pay cash for tickets at some big box and grocery stores (you will find the tickets located near the gift cards) I have a slightly different solution for you that I think will work even better.
Pat, I recommend that you take your cash and purchase a Disney Gift Card through your local retailer. You can then use this gift card to purchase your theme park tickets through the
Walt Disney World Resort website. If you have a bit leftover, you can use it for food and merchandise throughout the parks. If your store only has smaller gift cards available for purchase, you can combine them on the
Disney Gift Card website.
After you purchase your theme park tickets, you will want to link them to your
My Disney Experience Account and make your
Disney Park Pass system reservation. A theme park reservation is required for entry, and reservations do book up, so I recommend that you do this as soon as possible.
I hope that this helped, Pat. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help you plan your fabulous time at Walt Disney World Resort.
See you real soon!
