Hi Kari, and welcome to planDisney. Evenings are an extra magical time to be in the theme parks, and Magic Kingdom is one of my favorites! I just love seeing the beautiful lights down Main Street, U.S.A., and Cinderella Castle’s glowing colors! I’m not sure exactly what you mean by night lighting, but I can highlight some fun evening happenings at Magic Kingdom! If I didn't cover the information you were looking for, please send another question our way.
I thought you might be talking about the new nighttime parade coming to Magic Kingdom this summer—
Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away. I'm so excited and can’t wait to see all the sparkling floats bring our favorite Disney stories to life, like Encanto, Frozen, and Peter Pan! Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for more details on when this parade will debut. I'm hoping we'll get news very soon! Disney Starlight will be included in regular park admission, so all you need is a theme park ticket for Magic Kingdom to see this special parade (date-based tickets no longer need a Theme Park Reservation, but some other tickets may).
If you were talking about fireworks, I’m happy to share that Magic Kingdom’s nighttime spectacular,
Happily Ever After, is also included in regular theme park admission! My favorite viewing spot is near
Main Street Bakery since there are projections on both Cinderella Castle and the buildings down Main Street, U.S.A. But when my family is celebrating something special, we like to book one of the dessert parties. There’s nothing better than yummy treats and not having to stake out a spot for a great view of the fireworks! With the
Pre-Party and
Post-Party, you’ll watch Happily Ever After from the Plaza Garden and enjoy delicious treats before or after the nighttime spectacular. There’s also a third option,
Seats & Sweets, where you can sit to watch the show!
Finally, there’s also a specially ticketed three-hour event,
Disney After Hours, on select evenings at Magic Kingdom. After Hours is a lot of fun because you can ride attractions with lower wait times, power through the night with complimentary snacks and beverages, and watch the event-exclusive
Disney Enchantment fireworks! After Hours guests can also get into Magic Kingdom three hours before the official start. Not only does this give you a bit more park time, but it also means you can watch Happily Ever After AND Disney Enchantment in one night! How magical is that?!
The fireworks dessert parties and Disney After Hours can be booked on the Disney World website up to 60 days in advance. Disney Resort hotel guests can book 60 days before check-in for your entire stay (up to 10 nights).
I hope this helps you plan a pixie-dusted visit to Magic Kingdom! Don’t hesitate to submit another question if you had something different in mind. We’d love to get you the information you need to have the best day ever!
