Maria from Portugal Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

Hello, I want to buy tickets for a familiy of seven, but one person may not be able to travel on the selected dates. May I change the ticket dates for later. If so how later on. Thank you.

Hi Maria, and welcome to planDisney!

It’s wonderful to hear you’re planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort! I hope everyone in your group can join in on the fun, but if plans shift, not to worry. Disneyland tickets come with a little built-in flexibility, and I’m happy to walk you through how that works.

As long as your theme park ticket hasn’t been used to enter either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure, you can modify your park reservation. Just open the Disneyland app and tap the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the screen. From there, select “Make or Modify Park Reservations.” This will redirect you to a web browser, where you can view and update your reservation with ease.

If you’re wondering how long your tickets remain valid, most one-day tickets are good for 16 months from the date of purchase. To confirm the exact expiration date, take a look at the confirmation email you received when you bought your tickets. You can also find this information in the Disneyland app: tap the three-line menu in the lower right corner, then choose “Tickets and Passes.” Your ticket’s expiration date will appear right beneath the barcode. If you run into any trouble, the Disneyland Tickets phone line is another great resource. A Cast Member will be happy to help make sure you’re all set.

Since your trip lines up with Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort, which begins on August 22, you’re in for some seasonal delights! Both parks will be filled with autumn colors, jack-o'-lanterns, and spooky touches. One not-to-miss favorite is the Día de los Muertos display in Frontierland. This vibrant exhibit honors tradition with an ofrenda, decorative skeletons, and a dash of Disney whimsy. The area takes on an extra magical glow in the evening, making it the perfect photo spot!

I hope this helps you feel more prepared, Maria! Don’t hesitate to reach out to planDisney again. We love helping guests make the most of their Disney days.

Wishing you a truly magical visit,
    David
