Can I buy a ticket as a gift for family living out of Florida state?

    Welcome to planDisney, Garnette!

I can think of no gift that I would like to receive more than tickets to Walt Disney World Resort. Unlike shoes or a sweater, I know that this gift will always be in style.

Garnette, you can purchase tickets for family and friends that live out of state. The tickets that you gift; however, must be standard theme park tickets, and not discounted Florida resident tickets

You see, each adult with a Florida resident ticket must activate that ticket before it is used. Tickets are activated by presenting valid proof of Florida residency before entering the park for the first time.

Garnette, the only exception to this rule is if you wish to purchase Florida resident tickets for a minor. In this case, you would need to be there to activate the tickets, but since children do not need to have any proof of residency, their tickets will be able to be activated with yours.

I hope that this cleared a few things up for you, Garnette!

    See you real soon!
