Can I buy a postcard and mail it from Magic Kingdom or any of the parks?

    Hi Jennifer!

Thanks for visiting us again at planDisney! I love sending magic mail to my loved ones while I am visiting Walt Disney World Resort. Over the years I have mailed postcards, birthday cards, and even some wedding invitations for my Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding from within the theme parks!

I couldn’t recall seeing postcards in the theme park merchandise locations on my recent visits, so I reached out to a Cast Member for help. I was told that you may be able to find postcards in the gift shops, but this is not guaranteed as merchandise offerings are always changing. My recommendation is to purchase some Disney-themed postcards ahead of time.

There are still some ways to sprinkle pixie dust before mailing these out, Jennifer. Postage stamps are available for purchase in several locations throughout the theme parks and at Disney Springs. Postage stamps may be Disney-themed based on availability. There are also functional mailboxes in the theme parks. For example, there is one outside of City Hall in Magic Kingdom Park, and I recently noticed one near The American Adventure in EPCOT. You’ll want to keep your eyes open for these mailboxes as you walk through the theme parks, because they may look different in each location. There will be a sign on the mailbox explaining that mail is collected daily and turned over to the United States Postal Service.

Jennifer, in my opinion, the key to sending mail from Walt Disney World Resort is to stop in Guest Relations in City Hall at Magic Kingdom Park and kindly ask them to hand stamp your mail. They will take a rubber stamp and add a little extra magic to your postcard or envelope to signify that it was mailed from Walt Disney World. They will then return the item for you to place it in the mail collection box. I wasn’t able to confirm if the Guest Relations locations at the other theme parks have these rubber stamps, but it wouldn’t hurt to stop by each location and ask!

I hope this information was helpful, Jennifer. I enjoyed researching this answer for you, and now I have a few ideas for what I’ll be doing on my next visit to Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any future questions, you can send me a message (no postage required!) here at planDisney!
