Hi Christopher,
Welcome to planDisney! It's great to hear that you're already thinking about the details of your
summer getaway to The Most Magical Place on Earth! To me, planning is half the fun, so by starting early, you'll have plenty of time to dream about all the moments you'll enjoy at Walt Disney World Resort and put together the perfect itinerary for your trip! The
availability calendar is still wide open this far out, so the great news is you'll be able to make your
Disney Park Pass reservations now and guarantee your spot in the parks on your preferred days.
The flip side of that is that it can be tricky to plan things so far in advance, especially with the ever-changing nature of the world around us. I'm happy to let you know that
Disney's current ticketing policy does allow you to apply the value of any unused but expired theme park tickets to a future ticket, so hopefully that can put your mind at ease a bit and allow you to go ahead and include your son in your plans. I know how precious time with loved ones is, and I'm sending lots of pixie dust that he'll be able to join you on vacation. If his plans don't allow for that, though, it is possible to modify the ticket for a later date. Do note that you'd need to pay the difference between the value of the current ticket and the cost of the new one at that time, but that certainly provides some flexibility for your planning.
While dates for the
Taste of EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival have not yet been released, be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements about special seasonal events happening during your visit, Christopher, and don't hesitate to come back to planDisney again if we can help with anything else! I hope you have a truly magical vacation!
