Hello, Lorie! Thanks for contacting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Even though Florida's nickname is the Sunshine State, we've all been known to pack a poncho or two in preparation for our vacations to Walt Disney World Resort. Official hurricane season lasts from June 1- November 30; that being said, there have only been a handful of occasions when The Most Magical Place on Earth has been forced to close due to Mother Nature, with the most recent being Hurricane Irma in 2017.
If you are within seven days of your scheduled arrival and the National Hurricane Center issues a Hurricane Warning for the Orlando area, Guests who call in advance will be able to reschedule or cancel their vacation with no penalty, including special event tickets such as
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. When parties were affected in 2017, Walt Disney World Resort offered different options for families including rescheduling for another date, refunds, exchanges for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party tickets, or 1-day Park Hoppers. If you are concerned about the weather impacting your trip, I'd recommend calling the Ticket Services department at (407) 566-4985, (select option number 4) with your questions.
Odds are, you are going to have a spooktacular time, Lorie! Make sure to stake out your spot for the frightfully fun new fireworks display,
Disney's Not So Spooky Spectacular, which is hosted by Jack Skellington, and features state-of-the-art projection effects. Remember there's definitely a whole lot of fun to still be had whether it rains or shines at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Just follow Scar's advice to "Be prepared!"
