Hi Jana!
It sounds like you've already done a little research on
Disney's Memory Maker. I've purchased it for most of my Disney Parks trips, and I'm more than happy to give you my two cents! Speaking of cents, I know part of you is wondering if it's worth the cost since taking pictures is something that your cell phone does for free. Here are a few reasons why I think it is.
If you're anything like me, I'm always the one taking the photo, and we have countless vacations where it looks like the only ones on the trip are my husband and three kids. If you decide to purchase Memory Maker, you'll get unlimited digital Disney PhotoPass photos of your
entire traveling party from hundreds of locations around Walt Disney World. Some of my favorite photos were from our trip a couple of years ago when my oldest son was 15. The PhotoPass photographer took the most beautiful shots of him that would have been impossible for me to capture (I laugh at all the scowling pictures I took of him myself in front of Cinderella Castle).
I also appreciate all the photos that are snapped when we are on attractions, and this is especially funny when you go often enough that your teenagers learn where are the cameras are hidden! PhotoPass photographers can also enhance your theme park pictures with something called a Magic Shot. It's fun to scroll through your automatically downloaded photos on your mobile device and see Tinker Bell standing right in the middle of your palm (how did she get there?)!
To get the full value of Memory Maker, you have to be willing to stop and occasionally wait in line, so this can become a little bit of a group effort. The price of this service is currently $199, but if you decide to purchase it in advance of your trip, it is $169.
Have a great vacation with your daughter this spring!
