Hi Carlos,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks for bringing your questions to us! It sounds like you have some shopping plans for one of your ports of call, so let's chat!
As you may have discovered, hammocks are among the
items prohibited from being brought on board Disney Cruise Line ships. I know how fun it is to bring home a souvenir, so I reached out to a shoreside Cast Member about your question. She shared with me that, for items like hammocks, you must declare your purchase to the security officers when boarding the ship at your port of call. The security officer should confiscate your item and provide you with documentation on how to retrieve the item. Basically, after you disembark, follow the signage leading you to the area where you can claim your item once you enter the terminal. Be sure to have your Key to the World Card and identification to claim your item. Be aware that it is the responsibility of the Guest to claim items before leaving the terminal and items will not be held once all Guests have disembarked. If you have any questions, I would ask a Crew Member at
Guest Services or one of the officers before you disembark.
Now, as to bringing along some portable shade for your fabulous days at the beach, small portable tents designed for young children are permitted. Larger tents and personal beach umbrellas need to stay at home. If your cruise includes stops at
Disney Castaway Cay or
Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, there are umbrellas throughout the beaches. On my recent visit to Lookout Cay, I was pleasantly surprised by the number of umbrellas!
Carlos, don't forget to
complete your Online Check-In now so you are set to go with all your documentation and Port Arrival Time when your sailing date arrives. Let us know if you have other questions!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
