If I buy group tickets for students, when can I purchase lighting lane passes for each child?

Welcome to planDisney, Grace! Planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort with a large group is like orchestrating a grand parade: so many moving parts, but oh, what a spectacular experience! And when that group includes students, the adventure takes on an extra layer of coordination. I’m happy to help you get everything in place.

I checked in with a helpful Cast Member, Josie, at Disney Imagination Campus (the team for field trips and educational experiences), and she confirmed that group tickets must be activated before purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Once the tickets are loaded into the Disneyland app (you can confirm this by tapping the menu icon in the bottom right corner and selecting “My Tickets and Passes”) you’ll be all set. As soon as you scan into the park for the day, you can purchase and use Lightning Lane Multi Pass!

With your tickets linked, you can manage Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections for your group. There’s just one key thing to keep in mind: to ensure everyone gets the same return time, make sure no one in your party has already booked a Lightning Lane Multi Pass reservation. Once a return time is selected, guests must wait either 120 minutes or until they’ve scanned in for their attraction (whichever comes first) before booking the next selection. If someone in your group has already used a Lightning Lane reservation, you’ll need to wait for that time window to pass before making another selection for the whole party.

Now, Grace, I’ve got a few Q-Tips for attractions that are perfect for enjoying as a group. First up, there’s nothing quite like filling an entire boat on Pirates of the Caribbean! Another fantastic pick is Star Tours – The Adventures Continue, where one of your students might even be chosen as the Rebel Spy (a true badge of honor). And if your crew is craving some thrills, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is a must. It’s also the perfect ride to capture a mid-drop photo with all of your students. If you’re looking for a more relaxed experience, the Disneyland Railroad offers a scenic way to soak in the sights while giving everyone a chance to regroup before the next adventure.

I hope this helps, Grace! If you have any more questions or need additional tips for navigating the Disneyland Resort with your students, don’t hesitate to visit us again at planDisney.

    Wishing you a magical visit!
