If I buy a 8 day ticket can I buy a Magicband and link it to the tickets? Will I need an ID for each magic band holder or just the ID of the person who bought the tickets?

    Welcome back to planDisney, Yaireliz!

It’s always so nice when you stop by with a question for us.

Eight days at The Most Magical Place on Earth sounds like the best time EVER! I love longer trips to Walt Disney World Resort because I don’t feel rushed to do it all. One of the best tips I can give you is to take your time to really enjoy the magic. Stroll down Main Street, U.S.A. rather than speed to an attraction. Take the time to smell the deliciously sweet aroma as you pass Main Street Confectionery, find the hidden Mickey's all around the Parks, and truly enjoy being in the moment.

Yaireliz, MagicBands are my favorite accessory. I love that you can buy them themed to your favorite Disney movie or character, and even your favorite Park! They make Walt Disney World Resort vacations incredibly convenient because they can be used to enter the Theme Parks with valid admission, unlock the door of your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room, connect Disney PhotoPass images to your account and so much more!

MagicBands only work with one person at a time, so each person who is visiting would need their own. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and order through your reservation, the bands come pre-linked, and will automatically work with everything, be that tickets, Disney Park Passes, and as a room key! If you are not staying in Walt Disney World Resort hotel, bands can be purchased in person or on shopDisney and can be linked with the twelve-digit code on the back of the band!

If you purchase theme park tickets online and then the MagicBands for each person going at shopDisney or in person, you can link the MagicBands and not have to go pick up the tickets upon arrival, skipping the step of stopping by a ticket window for ID purposes to pick up the tickets. The only time this would not be the case is if you are a Florida Resident or Military member, as those tickets require proof of residency or military ID. If you are using standard tickets, then you can just skip the window entirely!

If these are standard theme park tickets, and you would still like to stop by and pick up the ticket admission cards, the person who purchased the tickets with a valid ID will need to be present to pick them up.

Yaireliz, I hope you have the most enchanting vacation! If you think of any more questions for us, we’re all ears!
