Dianne,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
So the great news about theme park reservations with the
Disney Park Pass system is that your primary park of the day is yours all day long! You can come and go as you please. Unlike with park hopping, where the park you are heading to has to have availability, your primary park is yours all day long. No checking out of the park is required.
On a personal note, what you suggest is literally the blueprint of our family trips to Walt Disney World. In the morning, my two teenagers and I head off to a theme park for some morning fun. Mom stays back at the resort to sleep in, maybe hit the pool, etc. In the early afternoon, the girls and I return to the hotel, chill out, explore, and basically recharge our batteries. Then all of us, Mom included, head back to our park for dinner, fireworks, and attractions. Everyone gets the vacation they wanted!
BONUS TIPOne of the other perks of leaving the park for a bit is that you can book a dinner at one of the great resort restaurants before you go back into the park. For us it can range from fancy (
California Grill at
Disney's Contemporary Resort) to fun (
Whispering Canyon Café at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge) to all-out entertaining (
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Fort Wilderness).
Write me back if you have any other questions.
Have a Magical Vacation!
Doug
