When you buy an annual pass, does your year start from the date of purchase or the date that you first use the pass ? I plan on purchasing a pass in April, but not going to Walt Disney World until October. Thank you.

    Hi Brad!

I purchased my first Annual Pass last summer and have absolutely loved having it this year!  I'll definitely be renewing it again this May and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who plans to visit Walt Disney World more than once in a 12-month period.

When you purchase the Annual Pass online or by calling (407) W-DISNEY (934-7639), you will receive a voucher that you will redeem for the actual Annual Pass.  You can do this at any Guest Services location outside the theme parks or at Downtown Disney.  The Annual Pass is not actually activated until you use it to enter a theme park for the first time.  That's the date the clock starts ticking and you will then be able to enjoy all the benefits of being an Annual Passholder for 365 magical days.  Once you get close to that expiration date, you'll also have the opportunity to renew your Annual Pass for another year at a discounted rate.  Bonus!

Wishing you lots of pixie dust in the coming year, Brad!  Please visit us here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel again if we can help answer any other questions.
