    When you buy an annual pass does the time period start when you buy or when you first use your pass

    Dear Janet,

    Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great question about planning ahead for your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort!

    I am also an Annual Passholder and I love all of the perks and benefits that come along with it!

    Once you purchase your new Annual Pass, it will not be activated until the first day that you visit the parks. When I first became an Annual Passholder, I used it before arrival to get a discounted room rate at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and also to purchase a discounted special event ticket, and then I just had to show my Annual Pass once it was activated in order to actually confirm those discounts.
