How busy does it really get the week before Christmas? I understand the week of Christmas is very busy but I would like my family to enjoy the decorations and the week before seems to be the best time for us to go.

    Greetings Ben!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  December is my favorite time of year to visit the "Most Magical Place on Earth!" My family loves to see all of the beautiful Holiday decorations adorning the parks and resorts! We also like to schedule a non-park day in the middle of our vacation to visit several of the Disney Deluxe Resorts in order to see the spectacular Holiday displays in each lobby. My personal favorites include Disney's Wilderness Lodge, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Beach Club Resort, and Disney's BoardWalk Inn.

Although it can be quite challenging to predict crowd levels with 100% accuracy, I have always found the week prior to Christmas to be a good time to visit, with crowds increasing in the days leading up to Christmas. My children usually get out for Christmas Break around the 19th of December and we usually head to Orlando then. We have always found the parks to be very manageable at the beginning of our trip and becoming more crowded by the time we leave, which is usually around the 23rd of December.

I would recommend arriving at park opening in order to maximize your time, when the parks are traditionally less crowded. If you will be staying on property, you may also want to consider taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours. I hope this information helps! Please don't hesitate to write us back with any additional vacation planning questions. Best wishes for a magical and merry trip, Ben!

    Happy Planning,
    Jodie
