How busy is Magic Kingdom in early August? I know going in June and July was pretty crowded, and I was wondering how much of a difference there is between early August and early September? Taking my grandmother, parents and DD age 13, two boys ages 2 and 4

Hi, Kimberly!  Early August can still be quite busy, and is still really peak summer vacation time.  You'll find longer lines at the theme parks, and dining reservations may be a bit tougher to get.

If your travel dates are flexible, my very favorite time to go during the summer is the end of August, into early September.  My girls usually go back to school the day after Labor Day, so if we're going during the summer, we'll go the week before Labor Day weekend.  Many of the southern schools are already back in session, and it seems that the parks become much more manageable in terms of crowds.  It's a bit easier to secure some of the most popular dining reservations, and I always feel like I can get more done in the course of a day.

Remember that t will be pretty hot at that time of year.  Many times, we'll hit the parks running as soon as they open, then retire early for some pool time or air conditioned fun somewhere.

Happy planning, Kimberly!  If I can help you with anything else, you know just where to find me!
