Hey, Robyn! Thanks for bringing us another great question! I love to help guests with the logistics of their travel around Walt Disney World Resort. There are so many different types of transportation available - buses, monorails, water taxis, oh my! My favorite form of Disney transportation is definitely the
water taxis. While staying at Disney's Port Orleans Resort, be sure to head to the water launch and hop aboard the Sassasgoula River Cruise for a trip down to Disney Springs. This stops at both Port Orleans Resorts - French Quarter and Riverside - before embarking on a leisurely and gorgeous ferry down the waterway.
Robyn, the day you plan to visit
Disney's BoardWalk area, you can use water transportation, but not quite the way you are planning. The marina at Epcot, which is connected to the BoardWalk area, is found at the back of the park at its International Gateway entrance. The bus that you will take from your Resort will drop you off at the front of Epcot and the only way to get to that International Gateway area is by using a theme park ticket to enter the park.
So, what I recommend you do is to actually head to Disney's Hollywood Studios by bus from your resort. When the bus drops you off at that park, you can hop aboard the Friendship Boat water taxi found on the far side of the entrance courtyard area. Just look along the shoreline right outside the park's entrance and you will see it. This water taxi transports guests between Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot, with stops at all Crescent Lake resorts, including Disney's BoardWalk area. You may want to give yourself lots of time to travel to the BoardWalk, at least an hour and a half, as the boats can be a bit slow.
Thanks again and please let us know anytime you have questions while planning your trip!
