Hi, Jim! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm honored to be able to answer another one of your vacation planning questions!
The Imagineers have built a wonderful winter wonderland in the heart of Florida. At
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, there are snowy touches everywhere, creating a surreal experience, especially when visiting during the summertime months. The most legendary ride in this park is
Summit Plummet. It's a record-setting water slide that plunges 12 stories almost straight down, perfect for any thrill-seekers in your traveling party! I must admit I've never quite worked up the courage to try this free-fall adventure, but there is a little shack at Blizzard Beach that sells a snack that is a "must-do" for me.
Blizzard Beach's Mini-Donuts are delicious, and they come with White Chocolate, Chocolate, and Raspberry dipping sauces.
Fortunately, getting to the Walt Disney World Water Parks from the
Walt Disney World Resort Hotels is easy peasy! The
Bus Service from the resort hotels begins 45 minutes before the water parks open and operates at (approximately) 30-minute intervals until one hour prior to park closing. Most resorts will have direct bus service to the water parks, but some may share a bus. In my experience,
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground often share a bus. Here's a Moms Panel tip: use your
My Disney Experience app to get up-to-the-minute estimates for bus arrivals at your resort.
The Disney Parks Blog has a video tutorial on how this handy feature works.
I hope you have a splash-tastic time this summer, Jim! We hope to see ya' again real soon!
