I have a bunch of Disney gift cards. how do I consolidate them so I can pay off purchases made with my magic band?

Hello there, Kelly! Welcome back to planDisney! We are so excited that you are back once more to ask your Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

I personally love using Disney Gifts Cards during my own family’s visits to Walt Disney World Resort! For us, it’s a great way to establish a budget for our vacation and actually stick to it. Prior to our arrival, I plan out how much we would like to spend and then purchase only that amount in Disney Gift Cards. This keeps us more accountable and less likely to overspend past our previously established budget! Disney Gift Cards also make the perfect gift if anyone is questioning what to get you for a holiday as well!

If you have Disney Gift Cards that need to be combined, you can easily do so by visiting the Disney Gift Card website! Once there, you will need to create an account or log into your existing accounting. You can then add up to five gift cards onto your account. Once you are ready to combine them, click the “Transfer Balance” tab. You will then need to identify a “primary card” for all of your funds to be transferred to. I highly recommend identifying that card with a sharpie or some other physical signifier so you don’t lose track of it. You will then be able to transfer your balances from your other cards onto your “primary card” with a few quick clicks! Keep in mind, though, that one Disney Gift Card can only hold a maximum of $1000 so, if you have more than this, you will need multiple “primary cards” to hold your full balance.

Regardless of whether or not you transfer your balance to one card, you use your Disney Gifts Cards through the My Disney Experience app or by visiting the front desk at your Disney Resort hotel. If you plan on doing the latter, simply let a Cast Member know that you would like to pay towards your room charge balance and they will assist you with doing so with your Disney Gift Cards! This process makes using your MagicBand to make purchases even easier!

Hopefully, this information will assist you as you continue to plan for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation this summer! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as well!
