Hello, Laureen! I'm so excited that you are in The Most Magical Place on Earth right now! I'm glad your curiosity was piqued because mine was too, when I read your question. And after a little bit of research, I'd love to shed some light on what I think it might be.
In 2017, Disney confirmed that four
Club 33 lounges would be opening in Walt Disney World. Club 33 is a legendary private membership club founded by Walt Disney, and the original opened at Disneyland Resort in 1967. The Club 33 locations at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Magic Kingdom Park are already open. Although this is unconfirmed, I believe the construction you saw at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park is the beginnings of Walt Disney World Resort's fourth lounge. It remains to be seen, but if this is the case, it will inhabit a prime piece of real estate on the pathway between Africa and Pandora – The World of Avatar.
I do have some confirmed updates in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park to share with you as well!
Rivers of Light: We Are One added reimagined elements to its floating tale this spring with depictions of Disneynature animals and animal-inspired Disney animated films, including The Lion King. Also, there is a
brand new Animation Experience at Conservation Station. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lion King, Guests can learn to draw favorite characters such as Simba, Zazu, Pumbaa, and Timon. And it was recently announced that for the first time in the Park's history,
Disney's Animal Kingdom Park will have festive entertainment and decor in every land, including the Tree of Life, for the upcoming holiday season.
Enjoy the remainder of your vacation, Laureen! I hope it's extra magical!
