Hello if my brother-in-law were to buy my children who live out of state who are under the age of 18 resident tickets and go to the gate to show his ID for us to go in. Would that be good enough or would he also have to be joining us in the parks?

    Hi there, Danielle!

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question. How wonderful that part of your 'ohana lives so close to The Most Magical Place on Earth! I'm sure your time together is filled with lots of pixie-dusted memories.

As Mickey's neighbors, Florida residents are eligible for some incredible perks and discounts such as specially-priced Florida Resident Theme Park Tickets. Guests over 18 years of age are required to provide proof of Florida residency for ticket activation, and although guests under 18 are not required to present a photo ID, there must be at least one verified Florida resident among their traveling party. Residency can be verified by Guest Relations at theme park ticket windows or at the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs. If you are hoping to make the most of your day (and the short waits at Rope Drop), I suggest having residency verified at Disney Springs in advance so that your party is able to head straight into the magic on your first day in the theme parks. While you're there, my planDisney pal Elaine, would not want you to miss the delicious cookies at Gideon's Bakehouse!

If your family is unable to utilize the discount for Florida Residents, keep an eye on the Special Offers available to all guests. This is how my husband and I are consistently able to save money (that I'll later spend on merchandise) on our Walt Disney World Resort vacations.

I hope this was helpful, Danielle! Feel free to stop back by with any other questions you may have. You're always welcome here!

    Cheers to 2024,
    Lizzie
