My brother and sisters and their families are planning to meet in Disney March 2009. Should we look into "villas" or is there a way we can get rooms fairly close to one another? We want to stay at the Polynesian. There will be about 18 people.

We love the villa rooms at WDW (in fact I'm writing this right now from my vacation at the Disney Beach Club Villas)! However, there are no villa-type rooms at the Polynesian. The closest villas to the Magic Kingdom would be those at the Wilderness Lodge resort. The largest villas are the three-bedroom villas that sleep 12 people. There are very few of these on WDW property, so there really wouldn't be any way to get your entire party into one room anyway.

At any of the Disney hotels, regardless of the type of room, you could request that you be placed near other members of your party. Just call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY and ask them to make a note in your file that of the names of the people you would like to be placed near. We did this ourselves for the trip I am currently on. We asked that my parents be given a room in the same hallway as ours and sure enough the hotel put them right across the hall. So helpful!
