Bringing 4 yr old girl twins for our first family vacation - early February. Could you give a quick pros and cons of deluxe vs value resorts. Or your opinion of a must stay at property? Tips on property selection? Need ease and convenience.

    Hi Amy!

I love pros and cons list, and I've made several myself, so I can definitely help you out.

The biggest pros for staying at a Deluxe Resort are convenience and amenities. If you stay at a Deluxe Resort, like Grand Floridian, you are on the monorail line for the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. This allows you to quickly get to the parks. This can greatly save you time and aggravation. You also have great amenities, such as the best dining options, spas, fitness centers and pools. The spa at Grand Floridian, Senses, is wonderful!

You can visit the spa even if you aren't a guest at Grand Floridian, so no matter where you stay, I highly recommend checking it out!

The only con of the Deluxe Resort is the price.

As far as the value properties, I highly recommend All Star Movies. Kids love the theming at this resort! The pros are the wonderful themeing of the resort, the pools are great and the food courts offer a wide variety of budget-friendly options for families. The cons are that the value resorts are further away from the parks, so you often have to take a bus to the park. This can be frustrating at the end of a long day.

My recommendation is actually not a deluxe or a value, it is Coronado Resort, which is a moderate resort. At this resort you can enjoy a spa, fitness center and amenities, while still enjoying lower rates than the Deluxe Resorts. You are still a bit further away from the parks than at a Deluxe Resort, but it's not that bad.

I hope you have a magical vacation!

    Magically,
    Stacy
