Hi! We are bringing our 2 year old son to WDW for the first time in May. We plan on going to MK on May 6& 7. We have ADR for the Crystal Palace for May 6. Any recommendations for May 7? Either in MK or a resort? Chef Mickey is unfortunately book

Hi Carolyn! How exciting that your son's first trip to Walt Disney World is just a few weeks away!

Crystal Palace is a great choice -- your son will love seeing the Pooh characters, and my family always enjoys the food there. I'm sorry that you weren't able to make a reservation at Chef Mickey's. That's another of my family's favorite character meals. Don't give up hope; I've been able to call as late as the night before and make breakfast reservations at Chef Mickey's. If you keep checking, you may find tables open up closer to your trip as other guests firm up their plans. If you're not able to reserve a table at Chef Mickey's, but your son wants to see those characters, consider breakfast reservations at 'Ohana or the Cape May Buffet.

If you're not looking for a breakfast reservation, 'Ohana is also a fun restaurant for dinner (although you won't find characters there then). The food is tasty, and your son would enjoy the kids' activities, which include limbo, dancing and coconut races. It's just a short monorail ride from the Magic Kingdom Park. For a lunch reservation, consider taking the boat from the Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge for a meal at the Whispering Canyon Cafe, which also has a fun atmosphere your whole family will enjoy.

Hope you have a magical time in May!
