Hi Lori,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I would definitely suggest visiting the
Downtown Disney area while you are at the Walt Disney World Resort. With a multitude of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, you can spend a full morning or afternoon exploring it all.
Our family always visits Downtown Disney on our first day at Walt Disney World. My kids love visiting
World of Disney – the world's largest Disney character store – to find a souvenir, and admire all of the amazing decorations. The spitting Stitch out front is a favorite of my boys. They enjoy watching the occasional unexpected passerby get hit by the mischievous Experiment 626.
If you are around Downtown Disney for dinner, I would suggest dining at one of the many wonderful restaurants there. Some of the places my family enjoys are
Rainforest Cafe at Downtown Disney Marketplace and
T-REX. Both are wonderfully themed and offer a variety of food options for kids and adults. The
DJ Kids Dance Party at Waterside Stage is a fun way to burn off extra energy before or after dinner.

Have a magical day!
