How exciting to be traveling to Walt Disney World with students!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, there is a way to put the cash to the MagicBands. It is a two step process but fairly simple. You would need to have each student set up his or her MagicBand to have charging in their My Disney Experience. Even if they are sharing a room, each individual can have a different credit card on file to charge back purchases to the room. The credit card is only charged once the resort spending maximum is reached or the guest is leaving. Each resort level has a different maximum starting at $500 for Value Resorts and going to $1500 for Deluxe Resorts.

However, you can pay your balance with cash, gift cards or reward points any time during your trip. As long as it is before the maximum is met you are fine. When we have reward gift cards, we pay our balance every few days using our cards and never have an issue.

If you are staying offsite, you will just have to use cash since gift cards are not an option.
