Hiya Caitlin,
Welcome to planDisney! There is nothing more magical than seeing Walt Disney World through the eyes of your little Mouseketeer. I love watching my two-year-old grow up on each trip and get excited by something new. I hope you and your little guy have an incredible vacation!
So let’s discuss dining and resort stays. First things first, yes, you can request a crib or playard for your resort hotel at Walt Disney World. Quantities are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, but every time I’ve requested one, I’ve been able to get one. You can ask for a crib when you check in, but I suggest contacting a Cast Member at the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation line as soon as possible. They can make a note of your request before you arrive. I will say, though, that if you are comfortable with your little one sleeping on a sleeper sofa, I would recommend requesting a room with one at whatever resort you are staying at. The crib can take up quite a bit of space, and if your little one is anything like mine, he will love sleeping on the little mattress.
As I mentioned, one of my favorite things about bringing my children to Disney is watching them experience the magic of Disney. My second favorite thing is that for the first two years of their life, they do not cost us anything extra to bring along (at least in terms of tickets or food). Until age three, you will not need to pay for your son to join you at any
buffet or prix fixe dining locations. This is a lifesaver for me because unless it is covered in sugar, my daughter is only going to nibble at best off our plates, so I’m not spending unnecessary money.
I hope this was helpful, Caitlin. As you continue planning your vacation, please come back and see
me if you need anything else. I would love to share any tips and tricks for traveling with babies and toddlers.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
