Hi there, Jeffrey, and welcome to planDisney! I'm thrilled that you've stopped by with this question about dining plans at Walt Disney World Resort! It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of using a dining plan during vacation, so I'm so excited to be able to share this information with you today.
Jeffrey, there are two different dining plan options at Walt Disney World Resort: the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. The pricing is per person, per night of your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel stay, and the cost is determined by the age of the Guest. Adults are Guests ages 10 and up, kids are ages three to nine, and children ages two and under may eat for free from an adult's plate, even at a buffet. In 2024, the cost of the Disney Dining Plan is $94.28 per adult and $29.69 per child. In 2024, the cost of the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan is $57.01 per adult and $23.83 per child. This pricing is subject to change in the future, and you'll be able to see the exact total cost if you decide to add a dining plan to your vacation package before you finalize the booking.
Dining plans are great because they allow you to plan ahead and budget for your vacation. They help me to stay in the moment when I'm enjoying a delicious meal, because I know I've already taken care of the bill. Many Guests find that a dining plan provides great value based on the cost of what they would like to order, in comparison with the total cost of the dining plan they choose. I recommend checking out the menus of some of your favorite restaurants to get an idea of whether a dining plan would be a good way to save money.
Each dining plan includes a set number of meals and snacks, and this is based on the length of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel stay. For each night of your stay, the
Disney Dining Plan will include one snack, one quick service meal, and one table service meal. For each night of your stay, the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan will include one snack and two quick service meals. Each dining plan also includes a Resort-Refillable Mug for each Guest. These are great because you can use them for beverages at your Resort hotel throughout your stay - everything from morning coffee to a fountain soda with a meal to tea in the evening. While they aren't refillable within the Disney Theme Parks, they work at any Resort hotel, in case you decide to visit another one during your vacation.
My preference is definitely the Disney Dining Plan because I like to book an
Advance Dining Reservation for a delicious table service meal to give my family some much-needed time to rest and recharge during an exciting day in the theme parks. Guests who like to be more on-the-go and spontaneous with their meals during their vacation might prefer the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan. One of the best parts about dining plans is that your meals and snacks are there for you to use at any point during your vacation, from the day you check in until midnight on the day you check out. You can use them all in one day if you like! I tend to use a lot of snacks when I visit EPCOT, so I keep that in mind when deciding when to make snack purchases.
Jeffrey, I know that this is a lot of information, and I'm hopeful that it's helpful as you decide whether to purchase a dining plan for your upcoming vacation. Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have about this or anything else as you continue the countdown to your arrival!
Bon appetit!
Jennifer
