Hi Katie!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney!
First things first, the other member of your travel party will want to have her own
My Disney Experience account and be linked to you via the
Family & Friends List. If she doesn’t want to create her own account, you can make one for her when setting up your Family & Friends List. However, if she thinks she might visit Disney World in the future, I highly recommend that she create her own account if able.
To set up your Family & Friends List, click the 3 lines in the bottom right corner of your
My Disney Experience app, then scroll down to click Profile. Click Family & Friends List at the top of the page and click (+) Add a Guest.
Once she has an account, you can
purchase theme park tickets and link them to her account. If her theme park tickets are date-based, she will not need a theme park reservation. But, as an
Annual Passholder, make sure you have your
park reservations before your Lightning Lane booking window opens.
Ok! Once your tickets are purchased and linked to your accounts, you’re both linked via your Family & Friends List, and park reservations are made, you’ll be ready to book your
Lightning Lanes.
Your Lightning Lane booking window will open at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days prior to your resort check-in date if you’re staying at a Disney World resort or select good neighbor hotel. If you’re staying off property, your Lightning Lane booking window will open at 7 AM Eastern, 3 days prior to the start date of your ticket for date-based tickets or 3 days prior to your park day for tickets that are not date-based (such as Annual Passes).
As you go through the prompts when booking your Lightning Lane services or when booking a Lightning Lane on your park day, just make sure to select the two of you when confirming your party.
I hope that all makes sense! If you have any other questions, feel free to come back and visit us. We’re always happy to help!
