    hi we are r bringing our kids in july for a week and were wondering if there are discount shops where you can find cheap t shirts and over gifts for a few bucks.we r so excited to come and r staying at akl.is it a long drive to downtown orlando?

    Hi, Angela!  Outside of the Walt Disney World area, you can usually find really good deals on Disney themed merchandise at WalMart, which is just a short drive away.  There are other shops in the area that have souvenir type things, but you might want to check out the shops in Downtown Disney, where you'll find lots of souvenirs under $10, as well as reasonably priced t-shirts. 

    From Animal Kingdom Lodge to downtown Orlando, allow at least 30 - 40 minutes, depending on traffic.  When we lived in Florida, I had a theory that everything I needed was either 30 minutes or 30 miles away.  Downtown Orlando is in the 30 minute category!
